Cette victoire assure à l'Ozeki un Kettei-sen face au Maegashira Myobudani - et peut-être face à l'Ozeki Kashiwado si ce dernier gagne son combat du jour.Kashiwado gagne également son combat du jour. Lors d'un Kettei-sen à trois, Taiho remporte le tournoi. Taiho et Kashiwado sont promus Yokozuna pour le tournoi suivant.

The legendary sumo champion Taiho Koki, with the highest number of titles in the modern history of the sport, with a record of 32 championships in the main category, died Saturday at a hospital in Tokyo for 72 years, said the Japan Sumo Association. 

Taiho, who was born in 1940 on the island of Sakhalin (which belongs to Russia and is north of Japan) and whose real name was Koki Naya, is considered one of the greatest sumo wrestlers of the period after the Second World War.

Russia starts largest ever naval exercise in the Black Sea

Russia has started its largest naval exercise in decades in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea under the guidance of the General Staff of the army, the Defence Ministry said. Warships from all Russian fleets, the Northern, Baltic and Pacific as well as strategic war planes are taking part in the drill. The Defence Ministry said the task of the drill is to test the readiness of controlling bodies and inter-navy groups to fulfill tasks in faraway seas. During the drill that will be continued up to the 29th of January, navy will fulfill over 60 various exercises, including missile and artillery firing.
