Marae
Whakamaharatanga, a marae (meeting ground) of Ngāti Mutunga, is located in Te One. It includes the Whakamaharatanga wharenui (meeting house). In October 2020, the New Zealand Government committed $198,318 from the Provincial Growth Fund to upgrade the marae, creating 6 jobs.
Education
Te One School is a co-educational state primary school, with a roll of 46 as of March 2021. It is one of the most isolated schools in New Zealand, which makes it harder for the school to attract teachers and access resources.

The rings (Anéis Olímpicos) are five interlocking rings, coloured blue, yellow, black, green and red on a white field, known as the "Olympic rings". The symbol was originally created in 1913 by Coubertin.He appears to have intended the rings to represent the five continents: Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania. According to Coubertin, the colours of the rings together with the white of the background included the colours composing every competing country's flag at the time. Upon its initial introduction, Coubertin stated the following in the August 1913 edition of Olympique:
