The carimbó (Pt) (also called curimbó, from the tupi korimbó; where "kori": "hollow stick" and, "m'bó": "furado", Marajó samba de roda or typical Marajó baião) is a Brazilian cultural manifestation of origin afro-indigenous, formed by musical genre and dance, created in the 17th century in the then Empire of the Amazons/Conquest of Pará (current state of Pará) in the then Portuguese America/Brazil Colony.
