Government reshuffle in Belarus
The President of Belarus announced a major overhaul of its government and its management of the banking sector. The new head of government is Andrey Kobyakov that will now announce the composition of its executive. You will need to replace the ministers dismissed by the President.
Alexander Lukashenko took some emergency measures last week to halt the decline of the Belarusian ruble which is now at 50 percent since January. It is stressed in recent days, dragged by the fall of the Russian ruble. Because of this, the prices of essential goods are on the rise.
Among these urgent measures, prohibited the increase in price of imported products. It also decided to tax at 30 percent the purchase of foreign currency. But none of this seems sufficient to stem the currency crisis that joins the economic crisis.
