" Windstorm causes damage in Joanópolis
On the morning of September 1, a gale shook Joanópolis , unfortunately a tree fell on top of CHAPEL OF SANTA CRUZ at the crossroads of Black Earth, Pires and entrance of Valley Farm Lakes ( Zappa ), completely destroying the building . Dita chapel of Santa Cruz almost centenary [ 1906 ] was built by Mr. Caetano Zappa for over 80 years [ 107 years ] to replace a small Santa Cruz at the site built as usual season for the death of an elderly lady who was sick and being brought bang in the city and died there. Years later mr. Caetano Zappa and being the owner of Fazenda Santa Cruz on his land he built the Chapel we know today.
After a few decades the rezador John Giles asking permission to the owners introduced an image of St. Benedict in the same standing as co-patron of the place, ie, apart from SANTA CRUZ was dedicated to St. Benedict . Unfortunate loss for both landowners Farm Valley Lakes ( Zappa ) but also for the people who were accustomed to it. Well, it gets a WARNING for some giant Eucalyptus trees in the city, repeatedly warned the City Council that could endanger the lives of citizens. This time fell into a chapel and the site, but this could have been a whirlwind of trees in the city."

CORETO DA PRAÇA DR. ALCIDES MOSCONI RECEBE APRESENTAÇÃO NO DIA DAS MÃES

CORETO DE ANDRADAS-MG
Até o início dos anos 80, os coretos de Andradas funcionavam como palco para apresentações de bandas, orquestras e outras atividades da cidade e região. Com o tempo, este espaço dedicado à expressão cultural começou a ser deixado de lado caindo no desuso.
Na noite do dia 12 de maio, data em que se comemorou o Dia das Mães, a Prefeitura Municipal promoveu a apresentação do projeto MPB – Mulheres Populares Brasileiras, no coreto da Praça Dr. Alcides Mosconi.
O show atraiu dezenas de pessoas, famílias e crianças que pararam para assistir a apresentação. Espaços públicos a serem explorados por atividades culturais estão espalhados no município de Andradas. Por serem pouco utilizados, tornaram-se locais comuns, onde passam despercebidos pelos olhares dos cidadãos. Segundo a Gerente Municipal da Divisão de Cultura, Zeza Freitas, a expectativa da atual administração é resgatar estes ambientes e promover shows, peças teatrais e outras apresentações que valorizem a cultura popular local e brasileira.
Em homenagem as mães, o espetáculo MPB – Mulheres Populares Brasileiras contou ao público presente como cada canção apresentada foi composta, o que se passava naquele período histórico e a ocasião em que foi escrita. O levantamento de outras localidades para este fim já está sendo estudado, e pretende levar para outras partes da cidade o mesmo tipo de evento.
