Ornithocheirus (En) é um gênero de pterossauro [Triássico Superior –Cretáceo Superior 228–66 milhões de anos] da família Ornithocheiridae. Considerado o gigante voador brasileiro. Ao que tudo indica, que o Ornithocheirus foi a maior criatura voadora de todos os tempos, superando até mesmo o Quetzalcoatlus. Tinha um tamanho comparável ao de um pequeno avião. O Ornithocheirus também foi achado na Inglaterra. No Brasil também é chamado de Anhanguera, algo errado, já que este é o nome pela qual é conhecido outro pterosauro brasileiro. Acreditam os paleontólogos que o Ornithocheirus fosse do Brasil para a Inglaterra, Reino Unido em longas viagens como fazem as andorinhas. Ele tinha uma envergadura de 13 m, uma altura de 1,5 a 2,0 m e um peso de 100 kg.

É bastante semelhante ao Baurutitan e ao Trigonosaurus, encontrados em formações rochosas semelhantes. Fósseis de três indivíduos dessa espécie foram descobertos em 2004, durante a realização das obras da duplicação da BR-050, rodovia que liga Brasília (DF) a Santos (SP), no trecho que passa por Uberaba. O trabalho de escavação dos fósseis foi concluído em 2006. Os técnicos escavaram 300 toneladas de rochas que datavam do período Cretáceo e Paleogeno, manualmente, para a retirada do material.

Measuring 10.3 meters (34 ft) long, Elasmosaurus would have had a streamlined body with paddle-like limbs, a short tail, a small head, and an extremely long neck. The neck alone was around 7.1 meters (23 ft) long. Along with its relative Albertonectes, it was one of the longest-necked animals to have lived, with the largest number of neck vertebrae known, 72. The skull would have been slender and triangular, with large, fang-like teeth at the front, and smaller teeth towards the back. It had six teeth in each premaxilla of the upper jaw, and may have had 14 teeth in the maxilla and 19 in the dentary of the lower jaw. Pedeticosaurus is an extinct genus of crocodylomorph from the Clarens Formation (Early Jurassic) of South Africa. The type species Pedeticosaurus leviseuri was named by Egbert Cornelis Nicolaas van Hoepen in 1915 on the basis of a mold of a mostly complete skeleton found in a quarry near Rosendal, Free State. The mold preserves most of the right half of the skeleton including the skull, ribs, dorsal vertebrae, forelimbs and hindlimbs, but not the tail. It is currently housed in the National Museum in Bloemfontein and cataloged as QS 606.[1] Van Hoepen originally established a new family for Pedeticosaurus called Pedeticosauridae, which he thought was closely related to the family Ornithosuchidae.
