Domingos Jorge Velho (1641–1705) was one of the most fierce and effective Portuguese bandeirantes. He was born in Santana de Parnaíba, captaincy of São Paulo, to Francisco Jorge Velho and Francisca Gonçalves de Camargo. He was responsible for the repression of several indigenous nations in Bahia and especially Piauí, which he is reputed to have been the first colonist to explore. His greater fame, however, is due to his conquest of the Quilombo dos Palmares, in the hinterland of Alagoas, on behalf of João da Cunha Souto Maior, governor of Pernambuco. Velho accepted the assignment and, in 1694, with an army of Indians and mamelucos, European Native American offspring, overran the fortified city of Macacos, on the Serra da Barriga mountain.
Zumbi (1655 – November 20, 1695), also known as Zumbi dos Palmares (Portuguese pronunciation: [zũˈbi dus pɐwˈmaɾis]), was the last of the leaders of the Quilombo of Palmares, a fugitive settlement in the present-day state of Alagoas, Brazil.
O Dia Nacional de Zumbi e da Consciência Negra, celebrado em 20 de novembro, foi instituído oficialmente pela lei nº 12.519, de 10 de novembro de 2011. A data faz referência à morte de Zumbi, o então líder do Quilombo dos Palmares – situado entre os estados de Alagoas e Pernambuco, na região Nordeste do Brasil. Zumbi foi morto em 1695, na referida data, por bandeirantes liderados por Domingos Jorge Velho.

20 de set de 2010. O Coreto Maestro Bilo, localizado na Praça 14 de novembro, no Centro Histórico, da bela e sublime cidade de Santana de Parnaíba, recebeu neste domingo -19 de setembro de 2010 -, o paulistano Conjunto Cochichando, para a concretização da 3ª etapa do 6º Festival de Choro de Santana de Parnaíba.
Maestro Bilo born in Santana de Parnaíba, Maestro Bilo was a competent teacher and extremely dedicated to the front corporation of Saint Cecilia, who conveyed the theory and technique of the instrument without worrying about remuneration.
When he died in July 1991, Maestro Bilo left the Santa Cecilia corporation without a leader. The city never heard the strains of the band, however, as evidence of its recognition, assigned to the gazebo, installed in the Square November 14, inaugurated in 1898, the name of Maestro Severino Doglio "Bilo".
The Bandstand Maestro Bilo is located in the Square November 14, next to the parish church. Donated and built in 1892, with his irons that came from England by ship to the Port of Santos, train up Barueri and bullock carts to Santana de Parnaíba, the gazebo is one of the most beautiful historic monuments of our city. Its floor was basement floor and the hollow, depending on the acoustics. Management in 1963, this monument was grounded, refurbished and declined in 60cm height, preserving their original cage and the rest of yours. Continues today, with stage performances and is considered the calling card of the city, along with the Mother Church, the Big House and the Museum.

A bandeira nacional é um dos símbolos do Brasil, junto com o hino, as armas e o selo nacionais. Foi instituída no dia 19 de novembro de 1889, quatro dias após a proclamação da República. Antes dela, outras bandeiras marcaram os diversos períodos da história do nosso país.
A bandeira do Brasil é uma das poucas bandeiras nacionais que não têm em sua composição as cores preta ou vermelha – geralmente associadas à guerra, ao luto ou ao sangue.
O lema “Ordem e Progresso”, escrito sempre em verde, sintetiza ideais positivistas do filósofo francês Augusto Comte: “o amor por princípio, a ordem por base e o progresso por fim”.
O sentido desse lema é a realização dos ideais republicanos: a busca de condições sociais básicas e a evolução do país em termos materiais, intelectuais e, principalmente, morais.

A Bandeira Nacional deve ser hasteada em dias de festa ou de luto nacional, em todas as repartições públicas, nos estabelecimentos de ensino e sindicatos.
Nas escolas públicas ou particulares, é obrigatório o hasteamento pelo menos uma vez por semana, durante o ano letivo. Durante a noite, a bandeira, se hasteada, deve ficar sempre iluminada.
Se várias bandeiras são hasteadas ou arriadas simultaneamente, a bandeira nacional deve ser a primeira a atingir o topo e a última a descer.
A estrela acima da faixa branca representa o Pará. A capital desse estado, Belém, era a que ficava mais ao norte na época da proclamação da República.
