Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Brazil Dilma Vana Rousseff Linhares.

Ms Rousseff congratulated Mr Putin on his inauguration as President of Russia.

The two leaders also expressed their desire to maintain regular contacts at bilateral level and through international forums.
