"Pope criticizes insults and says 'kill words'"

Pope Francis said "words kill" and recommended that people not insult one another. "You know that words kill.'s Bad insult, insults not a Christian," warned Jorge Mario Bergoglio, to celebrate the traditional prayer of the Angelus on Sunday (7), in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican.

In the same speech, Francis made a new appeal for peace in Ukraine, facing clashes with pro-Russian separatists. The Pope urged those involved in the political crisis commit more efforts to achieve a lasting peace. He also came to refer to the situation of Christians in Iraq and the Kurds, who have been persecuted by extremist group Islamic State (EI, ex-Isis). 


Praising the humanitarian work of the Italian Red Cross in the region, Francisco said that prays for people who "seek help our persecuted brothers and oppressed."
